So there’s this very nice lady that often comes to my store and sometimes chats a bit. She’s the type of customer we love because she’s always in a good mood and she’s very funny. Since this winter, she’s been talking to me a lot because “we’re both Aquariuses and we understand each other” to put it in her own words. I think she’s really sweet.
So the other day I was reading A Game Of Thrones on the counter and she saw my book, immediately taking an interest. She told me about how much she loved those books and how she’s read them all. She hadn’t heard of the TV series because she’s not very computer/tv savvy. But she was so happy I was reading them, today she… well, she came into the store and gave me the entire series. I got really flustered because… who does that? I asked her if she was sure about this, and she replied that she wouldn’t read them a second time and that she was happy to know someone else would enjoy them. Even though I already had the first book, she was really focused on me keeping the first four together because “they were a set and you can’t break a set apart”. Needless to say I thanked her over and over again. I told her it meant a whole lot to me and she replied that it was an early Christmas present (to which I responded that winter wasn’t coming YET).
I’m so happy and speechless right now… you have no idea the layers of shit customers can lay on the person behind the cash register, and then there’s this amazing person who just takes an interest in what you’re doing and… yeah. This lady is a bamf.
